WMC Seeks Members from 8th, 10th Congressional Districts
The Washington Medical Commission is seeking commission members from the 8th (represented by Rep. Kim Schrier) and 10th (Rep. Marilyn Strickland) Congressional Districts. To identify your congressional district, use the “Find Your Representative” tool in the upper right of the House of Representatives’ homepage.
To be eligible, you must have an active allopathic license, have been so licensed in Washington for at least five years, and reside in either of those congressional districts. WMC members are appointed by the governor and meet at least four times per year. Commission members are asked to:
- Review multiple disciplinary cases between meetings;
- Review and approve license applications for those that have complicated backgrounds;
- Participate in administrative hearings;
- Review, edit, and adopt rules governing the practice of medicine in Washington; and
- Participate in workgroups and interested parties meetings.
