Seventh Annual LGBTQIA2S Health Symposium: Primary Care and Family Planning for LGBTQIA2S Families
Friday, April 5, 2024
7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. PT
Swedish Cherry Hill and Simultaneous Live, Virtual Broadcast
Providence Swedish’s Seventh Annual LGBTQIA2S+ Health Symposium will focus on the provision of primary preventive care, sexual health counseling, reproductive health, and family planning for our LGBTQIA+ communities. The current climate has made it difficult to provide care to LGBTQIA2S+ people given the increasing number of proposed legislation to enact bans and restrictions on lifesaving health care services. This occurs despite the increased visibility and understanding of the LGBTQIA2S+ community in addition to the creation of LGBTQIA2S+ health care curricula in medical schools and residency programs. Health care professionals need more education about how to support and provide healthcare to LGBTQIA2S+ communities to improve the medical care for these patients.
