Resident Scholarships Available for WSMA Leadership Conference

The WAFP Foundation is excited to offer up to 20 scholarships to attend the WSMA Leadership Conference in Chelan on May 17-18, 2024. 

Why do you want to attend? To quote Dr. Katina Rue, a family physician and the immediate past WSMA president, “The Leadership Development Conference features an outstanding lineup of speakers, all experts in their respective fields, and interactive sessions designed to enhance your leadership skills. You’ll leave Chelan with concrete ideas and skills that you can immediately use in your professional life.”

This year’s conference focuses on building strong teams, with a focus on wellness, diversity, and sustainability.

What is covered by the Scholarship? The WAFP Foundation will pay the registration fees and up to two nights’ accommodation for scholarship recipients. In addition, the Foundation will award scholarship recipients $500 to cover other expenses such as child care and travel. 

How do you apply? Read about the conference. If you are interested in attending and are a current Washington state family medicine resident, complete the short application form.

When will you know if you are selected for the scholarship? We will review applications every two weeks, beginning Feb. 9, 2024. Applicants selected to attend from that first deliberation will be notified by Feb. 29, 2024. If you are not able to apply by Feb. 9 – apply anyway; we are accepting applications on a rolling basis.
