New Leadership Elected at 2026 House of Delegates

The WAFP’s House of Delegates elected new leadership at its annual policymaking event May 8-9 in Wenatchee.

Sonal Patel, MD, MPH, will continue in a second term as WAFP president. The person chosen by the Academy’s nominating committee was not able in the presidency for the coming year. In accordance with WAFP’s bylaws, the nominating committee reconvened and nominated Dr. Patel for president and she agreed.

Because Dr. Patel was unable to move into the immediate past president role, Dr. June Bredin was appointed to serve in that capacity. She will serve as an ex officio member of the Board performing the functions of the immediate past president.
