AAFP Congress of Delegates Considers Final WAFP Resolution

CHICAGO — During the final session of the 2023 Congress of Delegates, held Oct. 27, the Congress opted to refer WAFP’s resolution on access to doulas to the AAFP Board of Directors for further study.

The Reference Committee on Practice Enhancement heard testimony both in support in opposition to the WAFP resolution, which would have committed the AAFP to support insurance coverage of doula services before, during, and after birth. Because of some of the concerns raised during testimony, the reference committee opted to refer the resolution to the AAFP Board and the Congress concurred.
