Opioid Summit, Walla Walla (CME)
The Washington Academy of Family Physicians, in conjunction with the Idaho and Oregon chapters, is hosting an opioid summit on June 20-21, 2025, in Walla Walla for our members. The Opioid Response Network (ORN) is sponsoring the event and providing the experts!
The program begins mid-day on Friday (20th) and ends before lunch on Saturday (21st). Registration is now open. Space is limited!
Educational sessions include: 1) Navigating the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain; 2) Simplifying Treatment Protocols in Primary Care; 3) Driving Positive Patient Outcomes; 4) Practical Approaches to Youth Addiction.
Case studies and practical application are a big part of this training.
Faculty:
- Andrew Suchocki, MD, MPH, FAAFP is an Oregon family physician who is the Medical Director at Clackamas Health Centers. He frequently teaches on the CDC 2022 Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain to help physicians learn how to apply the new guidelines to best support patients.
- Matt Perez, MD is a Washington family physician at a large urban federally qualified community health center. He started their MOUD/buprenorphine program in 2014, helped spread it across the organization, has taught dozens of waiver courses across WA state and has given national talks on primary care addiction medicine. Treating substance use disorders is one of the most rewarding parts of his practice.
- Jesse Hinckley, MD, PhD is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with additional board certification in addiction medicine who practices in southeast Idaho and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Addiction Science, Treatment and Prevention at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
CME hours completed at this Summit will count toward the eight hours of training required by the DEA MATE Act.
