Fall 2025 Virtual CME (free for WAFP members)
Join us for WAFP’s fall virtual CME event. Sessions include developments in prostate cancer (including epidemiology, screening, diagnosis, and management) and heart failure update for primary care providers. We are working to confirm more sessions and will update this notice as topics are finalized. A session on vaccinations will include the following information:
- The relationships between federal, tribal, state, and local public health are going through a time of stress mostly due to changes at the federal level.
- After decades of stability, the process of developing US vaccine policy and recommendations has been disrupted, resulting in decreased access to COVID-19 vaccine and threatening access to routine childhood and adult vaccines.
- New scientific data on the effects of fluoride on neurodevelopment have intensified the controversy over community water fluoridation resulting in a highly polarized discussion.
- Trust in physicians and trust in public health have both fallen, but physicians remain the most trusted source of health information for most people.
- Strengthening ties and collaborations between the health care system, public health system, and community-based services are needed to improve the health of communities in our state.
