WAFP Statement: Optimal Medical Care Must be Grounded in Scientific, Evidence-Based Practices

Family physicians across Washington state are dedicated to delivering care grounded on scientific and evidence-based practices. Their ability to serve patients and communities depends on access to clear, consistent, and research-based public health guidance.

As the national conversation around vaccines and public health changes, it’s more important than ever that leadership at the national level maintains a commitment to scientific integrity. Physicians rely on public health institutions to uphold standards and support transparent decision-making, so we can prioritize the health of patients.

The American Academy of Family Physicians called for a reevaluation of Secretary Kennedy’s ability to serve in light of these concerns. The Washington Academy of Family Physicians supports this call as a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to evidence-based medicine.
