Theodore J. Phillips, MD Endowed Professorship to Family Medicine
The WAFP Foundation donated $203,300 in 1999 culminating a four-year fundraising effort to endow this critical chair for Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM). Dr. John B. Coombs held this professorship for nine years, before he passed away in 2009, followed by William R. Phillips, MD, MPH, from 2010 to 2017. In April 2018, Jeanne Cawse-Lucas, MD, was named the third Phillips professor.
Rosenblatt Family Endowed Professorship in Rural Health
The Rosenblatt Family Endowed Professorship in Rural Health in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), was established in partnership with Roger and Fernne Rosenblatt, Robert Lundeen, the UWSOM faculty and staff and the Foundation. Together, more than $500,000 was raised to bring the Rosenblatt professorship to fruition, and was fully funded in March, 2014 (Foundation portion, $82,000). The goal of the professorship is to increase the supply of rural family physicians and improve access to high-quality medical care in the rural Pacific Northwest. Dr. David Evans, MD serves as the first Rosenblatt Professor.
