Aug. 7, 2018: Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants

This free SAMHSA-hosted course is designed to help physicians and healthcare professionals who care for women with opioid use disorder and substance-exposed infants make clinically appropriate and individualized treatment decisions that will promote the best possible outcome for both mother and infant. The information covered in this course is based on SAMHSA’s Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants guide.

The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Swedish First Hill’s Glaser Auditorium, located at 747 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122. For more information or to register, visit http://bit.ly/WACMERegistration.

WAFP is hosting an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Instructor course on Thursday, Sept. 6, and an ALSO Provider course on Friday, Sept. 7. Both events will be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Renton.

Ongoing: Suicide Prevention Online CME

Kaiser Permanente is offering a free six-hour course on suicide prevention for physicians and physician assistants; osteopathic physicians and osteopathic physician assistants; licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and advanced registered nurse practitioners; naturopaths; social workers, and mental health providers.

Washington law stipulates that certain health care providers, including physicians and osteopathic positions, must receive six hours of training in suicide prevention. This course is listed on the Department of Health’s 2017 Model List.
