AAFP has announced the launch of a MIG for home-based primary care. The forum hopes to serve as a home for collaboration, idea sharing and advocacy among AAFP members who practice or are interested in home-based primary care.
The creation of the MIG was recently approved by the AAFP Board of Directors and will be overseen by the Commission on Quality and Practice. Thomas Cornwell, MD, executive chairman of the Home Centered Care Institute, will chair the MIG; George Taler, MD, co-director of the MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Medical House Call Program, is vice chair.
If home-based care isn’t an area of interest, AAFP supports 22 other member interest groups.
