The WAFP Board of Directors includes positions for family medicine residents and medical students interested in family medicine. There are four total positions:

• Resident Trustee
• Alternate Resident Trustee (ex-officio)
• Medical Student Co-Trustees (two positions share one vote)

Elections are usually held in the first quarter of the calendar year. Winning candidates are sworn in at the annual House of Delegates. Their term of service begins then as well.
