DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday, March 28, at 8:30 a.m. for WAFP’s virtual CME to increase your knowledge across four important topics (see descriptions below) and connect with family medicine colleagues.\n\nWeight-inclusive care, Matthew Smith, MD\nGain an understanding of how to support patients across diverse body sizes, stay current with the new insights in metabolic health, and develop new strategies to enhance care for individuals at any weight.\nGambling and family medicine, Tana Russell, SUDP, NCTTP, WSCGC-II, CGT and Deputy Director Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling\nLearn effective screening tools to identify patients affected by harmful gambling behaviors and understand the physiological responses associated with gambling use disorder. Also, become familiar with Washington State resources and increase your confidence in making appropriate referrals.\nLead testing and family medicine, MaryKate Cardon, DNP, CPNP-PC and co-director of the Region 10 Northwest Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit \nLead exposure is still a significant and preventable threat to children’s health. You’ll strengthen your understanding of testing, risk factors, and actionable levels. We’ll discuss symptoms of lead poisoning in adults and help you work effectively with public health officials.\nSocial determinants of health, Ruaa Hassaballa, MPH, MA, Health Equity Strategist at AAFP and PhD Candidate\nLearn how to use the social determinants of health screening tool, identify key social factors affecting patient care, and connect patients with community resources. The session is collaborative and attendees are encouraged to share practical strategies for supporting wraparound care.\n\nThe AAFP has reviewed this activity and deemed  it acceptable for up to 4.00 Live AAFP Prescribed credit(s).
